Robert Porter Contact: rporter4@columbus.rr.com Artist's Statement: I was born in Staten Island, New York. I graduated from Sacred Heart Elementary School and Curtis High School. After serving four years in the Navy, during the Korean conflict, I graduated from Wagner College with a degree in Mathematics and from Polytechnic Institute of Brooklyn with a degree in Electrical Engineering. I worked at American Electric Power in New York City developing electrical engineering computer application programs. When American Electric Power Company relocated to Columbus in 1981, I moved with them. I retired in 1994 and decided to take up tennis and painting. I took painting lessons at the Westerville Senior Center and at Otterbein College. My favorite subjects are structures (buildings, lighthouses, barns, etc) and three-dimensional subjects that appear to project off the paper, and I paint in both watercolor and acrylic. Accomplishments: Robert has won some awards in art shows he has entered, but he paints mostly for his own enjoyment and to see how much he can accomplish. Living on the Edge and Stairway to Heaven
