** President's Message **

Dear WAL Members:

A welcome back to all of our current WAL members and a big welcome to our new members. Iím looking forward to the 2011-2012 WAL season. I appreciate all of the feedback, suggestions, and ideas Iíve had from members. Keep them coming, I need all the help I can get! My goal is to promote WAL in the Central Ohio community and have a relaxed, learning and friendly environment for our members to meet and support each other. We have so much talent that others need to see! I know some of our members are old hands at putting their art out there in shows and exhibits. But some have not taken that step yet and we need to help them get that exposure too.

So ÖÖÖ. Hereís to a new year for our Westerville Art League!
Lynn

Congratulations to Carolee Brown, who had a painting juried into the 2011 Ohio Watercolor Society Exhibition. There were 337 entries and 65 were selected for the show by the nationally-known watercolorist Mel Stabin.

The show is at the Zanesville Museum of Art, 620 Military Road, Zanesville and runs through Nov. 23, 2011. You can read more about it on their website: http://www.zanesvilleart.org/galleries_exhibitions.htm

The MacConnell Art Show in Worthington

This one-day event was held outside at the MacConnell Art Center on August 20th. Lynn Carty, Terri Ruh, Kathy Smithson, Lori Andrews and Don Reither all participated. It was a beautiful sunny day. Lynn sold some jewelry, Kathy sold a couple of prints. It was a good experience, especially for those of us who had never participated in a show before.
